I was lost in reverie and then started laughing until I cried when the first song came on. Silver thread and golden needles wont tie your heart to mine I'm tired of your cheating ways. Life is funny that way no matter what we can't always get what we want but like Mick Jagger says, sometimes we get what we need.
Roy says old lovers make bad friends. I have always heard that but I am not sure I agree. For the most part I have made better friends then lovers with most of my ex-lovers. I used to think that was strange but now I realize it is mostly a blessing. There was a reason they became my lovers in the first place. Why throw the baby out with the bathwater. Most of the time there needs to be a bit of a break to clear ones head but at the end of the day I cherish my ex-lovers as much now if not more than I did when they were my lovers.
This was the first time I had ever listened to a Roy Clark record. Thinking about it I am not sure I had ever seen him outside of Hee-Haw one of my favorite shows as a child. Lots of good memories sitting around watching it with popcorn and laughing at Roy Clark especially in the cornfield scenes. It's not bad. Some of it seems to boarder on bubblegum rock and roll but his voice is sort of nice.
